Birdwatching with a thousand years of history around us

Birdwatching with a thousand years of history around us!

Once again the Friends of All Saints Church in Hemblington invited everyone to join them in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch – but with a difference – this was held in the churchyard.  Fortified by soup, scones and cake, several groups looked out for birds in the hedges and on the birdfeeders in the churchyard, and ended up with quite a tally, which will be entered on to the RSPB website.  The most productive time was between 09:30 – 10:30 when 17 species were recorded.  Well-known local naturalist, David Bryant (who keeps the Birds of the Heath blog), led the recording sessions, helping those less well versed in bird ID.

The event was the first activity of the year organised by the Friends of All Saints Church, who will be inviting everyone to come and hear David Clayton, celebrity broadcaster, writer, coach and mentor recall “My Journey through the Radio” – Tuesday evening, 28th March.  Details are on the website: www.hemblingtonchurch.org.uk or telephone (01603) 715804.  All are welcome.
