Thursday 6th 

The Friends of All Saints Church, Hemblington. Thursday 6th June.  Trees and Woods of the Norfolk Landscape – a talk to be given by the well-known landscape historian Professor Tom Williamson (UEA) at All Saints Church on Thursday 6th June at 7pm.  All are welcome to this free event.  Refreshments and a short Friends update will also be offered.  The churchyard will be looking lovely and full of wild flowers.  Further information can be found at www.hemblingtonchurch.org.uk or phone 01603 715804 or email Hemblington@nullgmail.com

Blofield Court House Friday 7th June.  Live Jazz Evening. welcome return of the Norwich-based RED SHADOW QUARTET playing a selection of original material, standards and some material from their new CD. Featuring Trevor Rowland saxophones, Peter Hayes piano, Dave Pullin double bass and Rob Masters drums. Doors and bar 7.30pm, music from 8.00pm. Wednesday 12th 

Blofield & District Gardening Club June Meeting, Wednesday 12th June. ‘Eucomis and other South African Bulbs’ with Richard Clark of Panache Plants.  7.30pm at Margaret Harker Hall, Blofield.  All welcome, refreshments provided after the talk.  (Visitors are very welcome to attend any meeting for a fee of £2.00 per evening).  For further details please visit www.blofieldgardeningclub.org.uk

Friday 14th

Blofield Court House Friday 14th June.  Village Screen. MARY POPPINS RETURNS (U).  Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt) re-enters the lives of the Banks family and uses her unique magical skills to help the grown-up Michael (Ben Whishaw) and Jane (Emily Mortimer) to rediscover joy and wonder.  Matinee 2.30pm (Tea, cakes and ice-cream) Evening 7.30pm (bar, soft drinks and ice cream).  Tickets £4.50 from S&S Mitchell Newsagents, The Street, Blofield.  All enquiries to 01603 712306.

Wednesday 3rd 

St Andrew and St Peter’s Church  presents a concert of the Choir of Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge on Wednesday 3rd July 2019 at 7.30pm.  Tickets £10 at the door and includes wine and savoury bits.  Blofield’s Edward Paston was an important patron of William Byrd in the 15th to 16th centuries and collector of his music.  This concert will include ‘William Byrd – A Musical Portrait’ and some lively Spirituals.
