Notice of a Temporary Road Closure in Blofield – North Street 18th September for 5 days

NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL has made a Temporary Traffic Order affecting the C441 North Street from a point 30metres south of the junction with the C441 Plantation Road in a southerly direction for a distance of 2metres in the PARISHES OF BLOFIELD/ BRUNDALL/ POSTWICK WITH WITTON because of new gas connection

The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) from 18 September 2017 to 22 September 2017 for the duration of the works, expected to be about 5 days within the period.

Alternative route is via:

Northbound – Yarmouth Road, A47, Shack Lane, Woodbastwick Road, Plantation Road

Southbound – A47, Yarmouth Road

(If necessary the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date of the Order).

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.

In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance.

Due to the closure of North Street in Blofield, Green Line 15 buses towards Acle are diverted via Yarmouth Road back to the Cucumber Lane roundabout and then A47 to Acle.

Buses towards Norwich will follow the normal route.

Monday 18th – Friday 22nd September. Affecting service 5A. Due to electrical work, North Street in Blofield will be closed. The 0708 ex Blofield Heath, 0738 and 1013 ex Pilson Green will be the only buses to serve Blofield Heath. After leaving the village these buses will operate as far as the A47 slip road then onto the A47. They will then turn right into Blofield village, then Doctors Road to the King’s Head. After this, the service will operate as normal. The 1355, 1725 and 1825 ex St Stephens Street will be the only buses to serve Blofield Heath, from Blofield King’s Head traffic lights, the bus will operate left onto Yarmouth Road to the Macdonalds roundabout. It will then join the A47 via the slip road towards Blofield Heath. All other buses will terminate at the King’s Head using Doctor’s Road to turn around. The above alterations are designed to ensure the reliability of the rest of the route.
