Norwich Castle: Gateway to Medieval England at Hemblington Church

The Friends of All Saints Church, Hemblington:  all that you wanted to know about the changes being planned at Norwich Castle Museum – and more!  Senior Curator Dr Tim Pestell will discuss “Norwich Castle: Gateway to Medieval England” on Thursday, 12th April, at 7:00 pm at Hemblington Church (Church Lane, Hemblington NR13 4EF).

We will also offer light refreshments and a preview of the social programme planned for the year.  YOU are very welcome to come along to hear what is being planned, and make your own suggestions for what you would like the group to arrange.

All Saints is a very special church in a lovely rural setting, with a unique Medieval wall painting of St Christopher.  It has survived against all the odds for nearly a millennium – and we need to do our part to ensure it continues for future generations.

The Friends group was set up to raise funds for any repairs required at the church and to help local conservation groups keep the churchyard well managed.  Becoming a Friend is a great way to support this lovely building – just £10 per year or £100 for life membership.

We encourage Friends to get involved – helping at the various events in the church or at Heathlands Community Centre, on our tours to local places of interest – and/or more energetic work like pruning hedges and raking grass after the annual cut.

Do come along on 12th April, to find out more about the Church and the Friends group.

Date for your diary: personalised tour of the glories of Ranworth Church – Sunday afternoon, 24th June.  More details will be available soon, and on the website: http://www.hemblingtonchurch.org.uk/   Queries to: Hemblington@nullgmail.com
