Speed Awareness Sign Statistics

Since September 2016, the new data logging Speed Awareness sign has been situated outside our two schools in the Parish, Blofield Primary and Hemblington Primary.

As of June 2017, the “old” Speed Awareness sign has been upgraded to include the data logging option and we now have two signs, one in Blofield and the other in Blofield Heath which allows us to log statistics from each location the sign can be used at.

The links below will take you to each “location” page where we have details from the speed awareness sign.

The “raw” data we obtain from the signs provides speed and volume of vehicles in 5MPH increments and by each hour. To make the data a bit more easier to understand, we’ve grouped the data into the categories you can see on each page.

There are two graphs for each day. The first is a breakdown grouping the statistics into 3 hourly intervals, so you can see the volumes and speeds of vehicles from Midnight to 3.00am, 3.00am to 6.00am, 6.00am to 9.00am, 9.00am to 12noon, 12noon to 3.00pm, 3pm to 6pm, 6pm to 9pm, 9pm to 12pm.

Then there is a daily totals graph which shows the total vehicle movements by speed category.

For locations within a 20MPH speed limit, the categories are 20MPH and below, Over 20 to 25MPH, Over 25 to 30MPH and then over 30MPH.

For locations within a 30MPH speed limit, the categories are 30 MPH and below, Over 30 to 35MPH, Over 35 to 40MPH and then over 40MPH.

We share these statistics with the Acle Safer Neighbourhood team to highlight speeding concerns in the Parish and we hope you find these pages useful.
