From the Friends of All Saints Church, Hemblington
A huge vote of thanks to all the musicians who organised and played at Heathlands on 2nd December, and gave the 90 people who attended a feast of music and laughter. Many thanks too to Jill and the team at Heathlands for organising the hall and the food, and of course to all those who so generously gave gifts for the prize draw. The bottom line is that £649 was raised during the evening – a huge bonus for both the building repairs fund at All Saints Church, Hemblington, and for the Heathlands Social Club funds.
Further fundraising events will be organised during 2018 – please check out your local newsletters (and telegraph posts!) for information about these.
A good way to get some fresh air and exercise in late January will be to come along to All Saints Church between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm to join in the national RSPB Big Churchyard Watch. We will record all birds spotted each hour and send the results in to the RSPB. Being Hemblington there will also be cake and, as it will doubtless be cold, there will be soup available too!
If you would like to be kept informed about what is being organised at the church, please think about becoming A Friend of All Saints. Subscriptions are just £10 per year, or £100 for life membership, all of which goes towards helping to keep the fabric of the church in as good a condition as it is possible to be for a 1,000 year old building. With very best wishes to all in this festive season, Sue (Secretary of The Friends)
