Hemblington Church News

The Friends of All Saints Church, Hemblington

Happy New Year to all our Friends – and in fact to everyone, as all are very welcome to join our Friends group.  We aim to raise funds to help pay for any repairs that are necessary at Hemblington church, as well as encourage people to meet and get involved with work in the churchyard and/or to learn about aspects of church architecture or history.  We are planning the following events early in the new year and warmly invite you to join us.

For the birdwatchers, we are planning to run the RSPB Annual Garden – well in our case Churchyard – Birdwatch again.  We will be at Hemblington church on Saturday, 28th January between 9.30 a.m. – 2.30 p.m.  We will have information and pictures to help those not too sure about identifying birds, and some binoculars and telescopes to help spot them.  Hot refreshments and tasty snacks will also be available.

Tuesday, 28th March will be one of the highlights of the Friends’ year – a talk by David Clayton, broadcaster, writer, coach and mentor, and recently retired BBC Radio Norfolk presenter, giving us a “behind the scenes” understanding of what it is really like producing and presenting programmes for local and national radio.  We hope this will be a big draw and lots of people will want to hear him.  More details will be available on the church’s website and circulated nearer the time.
